I want the students in my class to get to know one another, to get along well with each other, and to become friends. Since we participate in "full contact sports", an atmosphere of trust and respect is very important to the class. Therefore, whenever a new student joins us, and before sparring, I want the person to get to know the class first and become a part of the group. Furthermore, the students in my class are not extremists, nor are they in training to imitate Shaolin monks who live in isolation or in the mountains. We are all just ordinary people who like to exercise and love Karate. Please don't be intimidated by the words Karate or Martial Arts. Karate-Do Iwata Dojo is a place where good friends spend great times together. So come and join us!!
